  • David Lloyd Leisure is actively looking for additional club locations (20 potential sites identified) around the UK, exploring M&A opportunities and seeking to grow Orange Theory franchise with a pace of up to 20 new outlets per year
  • LA Fitness is in the process of selling 33 of its 80 clubs in the UK as part of a restructuring plan undertaken by company’s lenders. Sports Direct has purchased one of the gyms and is rumored to be in the process of buying up the others
  • Gymbox secured £10mm investment plus £7mm in new loans in July ’14 which it will use to open further locations in London and elsewhere in the UK
  • Physique 57, the popular US-born barre workout, is actively eyeing locations for expansion into London
  • Sports Direct is launching a budget gym chain with plans to open 200 locations, each charging just £10 joining fee and £5 monthly fee
